The Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunications has planned to launch a web portal, which will allow young IT professionals to share their creative ideas.
The purpose of this web portal is to help youth come up with their IT ideas and create a bank of ideas for the development of the region and the country.
About 25,000 IT graduates complete their education every year in the country, however, only 5,000-6,000 graduates are employed because of the flaws in industry and academics.
Under the initiative, IT courses will also be offered through virtual universities’ web portals, especially for young people in remote areas.
The Ministry has finalized a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Finland University to create an international standard virtual university.
The Ministry is also considering the establishment of the IT Regulatory Authority in the style of PMDC to regulate IT education and will introduce a standard for IT graduates and certificate holders. The IT capital park system has been finalized in the federal capital and special technical area and will be constructed soon.
